Street artist and illustrator Aleksi Ivanov originates from Varna, Bulgaria, and currently lives in its capital Sofia. In the street, he started in 2003 by gluing labels and stickers. For him, painting is primarily a social activity, during which he can communicate with people from the street art environment and the public who is just passing by. He often paints on the walls of various community buildings, such as schools, hospitals, community centers, he always solves the painting in the context of the given place. To Aleksi's main target groups belong children who take their environment in which they grow up as something natural. With his paintings, he wants to stimulate their imagination, he is convinced that the sense of aesthetics should not be underestimated even in the smallest kids.
Symbolically, even within the Pilsen festival, he got to a location that is primarily intended for the younger generation. Thanks to Aleksi, the neglected and overgrown basketball court in Bolevec got a completely new cheerful face, which will surely please not only the children from the surrounding houses or nearby kindergartens and schools. The author likes to work with abandoned places that gain new life thanks to artistic interventions. Thanks to the author's interest in animal motifs and creating his own cartoon characters, two monkeys appeared on the surface of the playground with a basketball and a tram – a Pilsen attribute that Aleksi has been interested in for a long time. The tram also refers to the most important part of the artist's creative process, which is the accentuation of the environment where he is currently working, including surrounding objects or sounds.
